Well you’d know.

My theory is that drunks react the same way as crash test dummies in crashes. So, cars are designed for drunks to crash

In all honesty, this is brutal for everyone, including the driver.
This isn’t a 35 year old who fully understands the effects of alcohol and the consequences of driving after drinking.
This is a teen who is likely drinking for the first time and has little experience driving period. Couple that with hormones and having 2 girls in the car, I bet he tried to show off like any teen would.
Sadly it ends up with 2 girls dead at the hands of a kid who probably doesn’t fully understand how many lives he just forever altered, including his own.
It’s just a heartbreaking story for the 2 girls and their families, but also for the driver and his family.

Pretty terrible. Either don't drive drunk, or for god's sake, keep it below 80 when driving drunk.

wtf?
WTF do you mean WTF? Until we devolve into a nanny-state/police-state, with sufficient technology to eliminate it, there will ALWAYS be fellow citizens who climb behind the wheel, despite being buzzed and/or drunk.
You pass these people on the road more than you know. A second glass of wine at dinner, a third beer after work. Has enough time passed? Am I ok? Yea, I'm ok. Fortunately, we teach our children not to do this nor to climb in a vehicle driven by someone impaired.
But how much control do you REALLY have? You decide, but choose wisely.
Now, given all that, would you prefer, if given only these choices:
- a buzzed/drunk driver who is carefully, SLOWLY driving through neighborhoods and back roads, hoping to avoid the cops, stopping extra long at stop signs
or
- your daughter climbs in a car and hard-dick, drunk, Mr. Cool (age 18) tries to impress her by gunning it to 78 MPH down Atascocita Blvd., literally cutting the car in half by hitting a tree.
Choose wisely.

don't drive drunk
Also, don't ride in the car with a person who is drunk. Try to stop that drunk person from driving at all while you're at it.

I wonder if the driver will be found to be suffering from Affluenza? This is Texas, you know.
Same thought that ran though my mind when I saw this. Won't happen again as that ship, however totally misguided as it was, has sailed.
How that kid got away with killing 4 people and is walking the streets is beyond me. Plus throw in the fact he and his mother basically flipped off the authorities by disappearing into Mexico for a bit when they were looking to revoke his probation is beyond belief.

Cause they’re just doing this every fricking day down here.

The judge was bought. That dumb bitch laid the hammer on dirt poor kid who basically had the same accident but only killed 1. Couch ended up serving 2 years though. Still not enough.

Those don't have to be the only 2 choices here in real life
