He isn't asking you to adjust your life for him, he is simply suggesting that if you are someone who wishes to go back to the 1980s, you can have that life.
You can dump the cell phone, get a land line, get rid of all the technology available today that wasn't available back then. If you are not one who wishes to go back to the 80s then he isn't talking to you.

But you can't because everyone else is using uptime tech.
I already don't have Netflix and I can read a printed map.
But good luck finding a job where you don't have to use a cell phone or the Internet. Either at the job or to find the job in the first place.

Many posted “nothing.”
They didn’t say they wanted to recreate the 80s. They said they wouldn’t miss the tech if it was gone.
