Same reason it blows up when minimum wage workers protest for $15/hr.
Supply and demand, your paid what you are worth and some people can't handle that.

I will say this. All my teachers earned their paycheck when I was in their class.

So I realize how underpaid teachers are by taking care of my own kids?
Solid logic.
Solid logic.

God seems it so, He hates you according to this teacher.

Exactly. And it makes even less sense for parents that pay to send their kids to private schools

Have only 2 teachers that are FB friends and they were bitching at the possibility of school being out. In N La schools are still open, at least where I'm at, and they were glad

and that same teacher will bitch about the make up days and how it is taking days away from her summer vacation
Neighbor of mine was already bitching that the school might use the contingency days set up during Mardis Gras week to make up for this time. I was like why not. That is why they are contingency days to be used if necessary and not just additional holiday time. Your tax dollars at work.

I guess teachers should get paid less for teaching my kids because they behave?

Most teachers are nice, well-adjusted individuals. I've worked in the classroom and met some really good teachers who care about their jobs. A lot of teachers, though, are bitchy women who had no idea what they wanted to do so they became teachers. Now they hate their lives and just complain about their jobs 24/7.
One thing these teachers don't understand is that they aren't the only people who take their work home or work weekends.

I know a lot of parents schedule their vacations during the week their kids have off for Mardi Gras. There will be a lot of kids who won't be at school during this week if they decide to take some of those days.
I've already paid in full for our vacation so I'll be damn if I'm going to lose out of any of the money I've allocated to this trip.

I hate these type teachers.

The only thing I have to grade at home or on my off period is lab test/lab reports because those have to be hand written. My lecture test are all on scantron.

Because we're tired of hearing how underpaid and under appreciated they are. We're all underpaid and under appreciated no matter what we do for a living. They have huge perks. Like a pensions and multi day/week vacations. They're sitting inside sucking up the AC in the summer (when school is actually in) and heat in the winter. If they hate it so bad, do something else. Truth is they always want more. If they made 50k per year it still wouldn't be enough. If they had a longer summer break they'd complaint. I'm not freak so dense to understand what my taxes pay for and what I get for those taxes. They should understand the same.
I would like to know what I am really getting for taxes. Call me dense but I don't get anything free.
Am I doing it right?
