The teacher did the right thing and got ahead of the parent. The kid goes home and says what happened then they're filing a report against the teacher. Now the teacher can control the narrative of what actually happened

Teachers get a performance check every year, it isn't much but it does mean more pay. Also if your student scores are low and your observations suck you can be terminated or you will have to go through training again. So a teacher scoring a 1 or a 2 yearly will be removed and retrained.

Do you think the teacher did the right thing here? Can you tell me anything about these "performance checks"?

Fake autism is real. It's more prevalent than real autism

I haven't read too much into it, but if a student would strike me I would file a complaint. I mean you are talking my career and if the family comes put I did the wrong thing it becomes my word vs theirs. I'm going to lose that battle 10/10 times. By me having it on record the student struck me they can say I did this or that but the police report says otherwise. The family now has to prove I'm guilty vs me proving I'm innocent.
