I mean convicts are more likely to be arrested for another crime when released than non-convicts so these numbers aren’t that bad

Give them time, it's only been a couple of months.

Hell, it took the piece of shite who shot the BRPD officer last week about 4 months to reenter the system.

They learned how to be (better, for a lack of words) criminals in jail.

As a country, and more importantly as a state, we need to stop the massive rates of incarceration.

The for-profit prison lobby has brainwashed people into thinking we should lock everyone up for everything. Its not a sustainable model.

We can start by releasing the majority of non-violent drug arrests that didn't involve weapons or mass quantities of smuggling across borders.

Well, the 3 months for the 1800 that have not been arrested again has already saved Louisiana over $18,000,0000. And that number is going up by over $200,000 every single day.

So I would say good job governor of LA.

For profit prison industry and their republican cronies are likely pissed about the loss of revenues and lobbiests money though.

If they get out and kill just one person it won't be worth any amount of money saved by the state.
