Tablet for a kid

Looking for s tablet that my daughter can watch movies on for road trips etc. Can anyone recommend a good one? Obviously also a case with military grade protection because she can frick up an anvil. Tech question: can you download movies on the kids tablet or do you need a data plan?

How old is your kid? My 9 year old walks around with an iPad. Great for movies and chatting with perverts when we forget to lock it.

She’s almost 2. She watches a couple of Disney movies like it’s her job. She’s obviously too young to use it for anything else but I’m hoping to get something that she can continue to use as she gets older.

Grab an Amazon Fire Tablet. They're cheap and you can download movies from your Prime account. You can add storage space with a micro sd card. Any generic silicone case works.
They should be coming up on sale soon since Prime day is approaching.
Also you can easily turn it into a regular droid tablet by installing Google Play Store. It's an easy Google search to do it.

My 6 year old and 2 year old use a Kindle Fire. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the ipad , but you can't beat it for $50 (when it's on sale). It's been dropped several times with no issue.

We don’t have one but I recently saw some kids with one from amazon that had a huge screen. Looked pretty cool.
