How many times lately have you seen a local/state official go on TV and say "let's not panic", "no need to panic"? Guess what happens? People panic. Because people don't hear the message. They instinctively ask themselves "why am I told this? Is there something wrong?".
Another popular one is "Everything is going to be ok". Then you have "Stay positive" or "Relax". Do people ever believe these crap suggestions? Just give me facts and the specifics on how to improve the situation.

Yeah, but you got to emphasize “calm the frick down” part and inject a little anger/hostility in the message to grab her attention.

I would love to hit everyone that says the following;
"flatten the curve"
"social distancing"

I don't say things. I just slap people.
