Interesting story: In a high school legal studies class, we were assigned a project where we had to write a complaint letter to a major company that could have potential legal implications and then analyze their responses.
I wrote a letter to Surge with concern that it might "result in shrinkage of my precious manhood." More as a joke, but that rumor was pretty widespread
They wrote back, assuring me no studies have confirmed such "shrinkage."
I still have their response letter

We took a class trip to D.C. in elementary school (late 90s) and everyone was pumped when we found Surge at some store. Was it not available in Louisiana back then? Or were we just excited because our parents just generally not allow us to drink it? I really can't remember.
But I do remember the chaperones being fuggin pissed when they had a bunch of Surged-up 5th graders bouncing off the walls of a Smithsonian
