I mean, they weren’t failing when they were in control. It’s only when they relinquished them to international pressure that they imploded. See Rhodesia and S. Africa.
This is nonsense.

China has us by the nuts.
Transformers and valves we order are taking 6 times the normal lead times. Every item back ordered is because something is coming from China.
a valve I ordered for a unit that we have to have to operate the entire damn thing was held up because of parts from China.
The thing had to be air freighted overnight from overseas to make it here the last day of the outage because so many suppliers have moved their shite there.
Pretty soon our electrical grids will be fricked. Won't be able to repair the big 69kV transformers (which already take 6 months to fix) at all.

We have jobs going unfilled because Americans are too lazy to do them.
I would REALLY love to see what's actually going on. Because OT is blaming lazy people. But all I see when I search for jobs are a bunch of small business owners who don't understand that I'm not working my dick into the dirt for $12 an hour.
There's a housing crisis, there's Chinese investors scooping up property left and right, there's a labor and housing shortage, yet people working in entry level jobs are still expected to make shite wages and smile as they do it.
Thank frick I have an internship lined up at the start of next year. But until then I still have to deal with this shite. I'm not hauling stone, wrecking my body for pay that can't afford to keep a roof over my head.

What industry are you looking in?

So you have no degree and no experience and no skills but think you deserve more than $12/ hour? If you had the above your demand would easily be above that.

Said no one who actually needed to*:
a) know where a rail shipment was en route
b) know when it was going to be delivered
c) attempt to negotiate anything with a Rail carrier
*not limited to but including the following
This right here. I was coming to post this as well. Rail is a fricking nightmare in my industry. You can never get updates on when your shipment leaves, status, etc. You only know when it arrives when its sitting in your fricking yard. Plus they all give you bullshite lead times.
Have material that was due on on March 1st. Tried getting in touch with anyone who could help and they basically told me it'll leave when it leaves

Sounds like a business opportunity.

What you're referring to with freight and truckers - is this a story where the largest players are getting all the market while everybody else is going out of business? Sounds like a combination of extreme retraced demand with limited options for fulfilment due to solvency issues from players who couldn't survive global lockdowns maybe?
If you are talking about independent family run truck drivers they’ve been squeezed for years. The current DOT regulations really make it hard on them. Most of the truck drivers I speak with a good many of them are from eastern block countries or speak Spanish. Americans, a good many of them simply don’t want to work. I got asked in the grocery store line yesterday if I had any kids that need a job. There are help wanted signs everywhere around here.
In regards to solvency among the cargo ship companies no that’s not an issue because of lockdowns. If anything global trade increased oddly enough during the pandemic. I personally think there are people out there as a collective group parking cargo ships at the docks and doing it on purpose. There is a shortage not only ships but the containers to load ships. It appears to me to be a money grab set forth by greed.

Wow. How could anyone have seen this coming?

Buckle up, friends.

But China Joe has already reversed that policy
Not that you actually give a shite but, fwiw, Biden hasn't rescinded any of the Chinese tariffs put in place by Trump.
And Trump did nothing out of the ordinary as far as revitalizing American manufacturing. The only one that comes to mind is the Apple manufacturing plant that he touted in Janesville, WI, which was scuttled by Apple before they even broke ground.
This whole "China Joe" shite is just a GOP talking point that has absolutely no basis in fact...not that that's ever stopped you guys before (4 pounds of beef).
