I'll have the landlord add it into your lease. I'll warn you in advance -- I ascribe to the KJI theory on aging. But I'll be more than happy to drink your cellared beer

There are definitely places for ~1000 a month in non shitty neighborhoods. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. To find them either talk to a real estate agent in the area or drive through the areas yourself. Found a couple $1200 two bedrooms recently Uptown and Midcity that weren't bad at all, so a single bedroom for a little cheaper shouldn't be a problem.

FWIW, the little house next to me is available for rent. It'll be around $700. We could be drinking buddies and make sure if one of us gets killed we can pass the news on to each other's next of kin.
Where in town do you live?

Say I'm looking for something. I'm cool with living almost anywhere. That would save me $300 a month for booze

Do you search for people? Will be interested come June 1st, not super serious until August/September.

Yeah, I used to live near Claiborne and Carrollton, which is not the same neighborhood but is the same general area. My biggest problem with living there was that it was so far anytime I wanted to go downtown, etc. Even parts of Mid-City were quite a hike.

An OTer I'm friends with has a nice 3br house in broadmoor and lives alone. Tried talking him into tossing me a room but he wasn't having it

Sounds like you suck. Don't come to my hood. My neighbors are already degenerates. I don't need more
Jokes aside, I'm considering the entire damn city at this point. I'd like to stay somewhere uptown, but at this point I'd even consider places like the Bywater. I could grown a thin, ironic mustache.

The wife is in love with Bywater area. She is an art grad so she has been immersed in weirdos for a while.
Just not sure I could do it.

Agreed. I don't know if it's a great value either. Most of the places I've seen are pretty damn sad. Then again, NOLA is not a great value place in general for housing.

No degenerates?!! Well frick I'm out

I live across Carrollton from Yeezy and there are plenty of places for rent in my hood that are $1000. My place is $1000 for a half double, central air, w&d. When are you looking? I can keep an eye out and buzz you in the FBD if I see something. Lots of stuff opens up when school ends, but it can get gobbled up fast.

I would rather live just about anywhere than the Bywater. It's not even weirdos moving there anymore. It's the rich kids from New York and Seattle who used their parents' money to go to a private liberal arts college before deciding to buy a bike and go into the baristal arts.
I've been looking in Gentilly lately. I like how quiet it is. It's pretty isolated though.

Yeah, screw living in bywater/Marigny.

Tentative plan right now is somewhere between June 1st and August/Sept. We sell the house June 1st and the wife will be in BR until Aug/Sept, so no need to move until she gets a job in Nola.
Ideally we would like to end up with a house below St Charles, but right now it is impossible to house hunt for a distance and with her schedule. Hopefully an rental down there moves this along.

You're reading my mind. I like the chilled out nature of it, but you get it because you're in as much of "the sticks" as you can possibly get in NOLA. Still looking myself.

Chillygentily didn't pull that user name out of his arse from no where!
