Any reason for this besides aids? I swear the last couple of months my fingernails have grown at twice their normal rate. Toenails don’t seem to have been affected.

Have you been biting your nails? Might be a balancing act type of deal.

Sounds like your X gene is coming alive. I wouldn't rush off to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, though.

More germs under your nails than anywhere on your body.

That's oddly observant.

I’m basing that on how often I have to clip them.

I have a simple answer.Hormones. The American Academy of Dermatology, I'm not a member, just follow studies, anyway, they point out that a hormone imbalance can cause nails to grow more slowly. However, hormones can affect nail growth in healthy people as well. For example, women tend to experience faster nail growth during pregnancy and slower nail growth during lactation.

How old? I swear mine started going faster around the same time I first spotted my first gray hair. This was around the same time my nose hair started getting wild.

You've lost all testosterone. It's like a buck when they clip their nads on a fence... are your nails still in felt year round?
