Yes, the south side is horrible and I wouldn’t be caught there even in the daytime. But if you avoid that, which is very easy to do because anything worth anything isn’t there, it’s a really nice city.

Meh, the South Side is just like everywhere else in the city. Nice parts and shitty parts. If you don't think Hyde Park or Jackson Park is worth anything, or that Bridgeport isn't a nice neighborhood, then you've never been.

About 100,000 stops were recorded for all of 2016, an 82 percent decrease from 600,000 the previous year

But you have to consider all the black lives saved. Thousands of black community college students were saved from being slaughtered by the police.

From 1/1/16 through 3/27/18 in Chicago

Total people shot (killed and wounded): 8,447
Total people shot by cops (killed and wounded): 52

But by all means keep marching against those horrible cops and tell me all about how scared of them you are.

Btw. I love Chicago and have never felt unsafe.

Two murders last year in Rogers Park (northside almost in Evanston) caught my attention as I knew the very well lighted street the victims were walking along in the early evening. Where they were murdered was one block from the apartment building I lived in one summer, across the street from other nice apartments and houses.

They were about as far from the Southside as you can get and still be in Chicago.
