Well yeah, the tuition rates at River Parishes Community College and Southern University aren’t really high.

I'm using PSLF so I will just keep paying.

Yep.

Unfortunately if you stop, it would screw up the payment cycle and you have to start all over

federally held

This is the catch for people who consolidated. Or maybe even who didn't. I don't know. All the student loans I've ever taken out have been "federal" versus private. But I don't think they are direct from the government. Rather guaranteed and (for half of mine) subsidized by the feds.

Yeah we've come very close to doing that or pulling out cash to pay them off. Ironcially we were waiting to make sure Bernbot or Chief Warren weren't elected. (not really)

I refinanced last year. I've already saved more money with the lower private interest rate than I will with 2 months of no interest during this pandemic.

So does this extend the term of the loan? Defer interest for two months? Or remove the interest entirely for this period?

That's not true at all. If you stop it for 2 months, then it will just take you 2 more months to meet the 120 payment requirement.

In other words, this allows someone to determine whether the savings from not having 2 months worth of payments is more beneficial than being able to forgive the loan 2 months earlier.
