I remember one hurricane in Terrebonne (I cannot remember which one but it could have been Rita) there was a tank of that stuff that started leaking down in Montegut and the winds pretty much disbursed the smell throughout the entire parish for a few hours.

I believe the phrase "gag a maggot" is appropriate. What you smell in natural gas is a very minute trace of the stuff, usually less than one part per million. In higher concentrations, that stuff is... aggressive.

I always take the Loop so I’m rarely in that area anymore.
