He looked in the crate, said that’s not our cat, and when he opened the door it attacked him and ran and jumped the back fence.

I used to be one of those.

They really don't know what they're missing. Being adopted by a stray is awesome.

We worried she was ferrel for about 2 days. Then I was putting finish on a wood working project and she meowed at me. From behind an ice chest and ready to run. Wife pet her and now she’s a normal cat. A bit aggressive with insisting on head scratches. Even a-hole-ish slightly. lol. Headbutts your hand before you pet her.

Sounds like you have a new good friend. If your work room gets cold, you could put an electric blanket on low under another blanket to keep her warm. I have a mattress warmer on my guest bed that I keep on in the Winter months. I put some throws that are designated kitty blankets over the bedspread. The kitties have always loved that since I keep the house pretty cold.

I've had kitties for years, all unique and all very loyal. My last ones all got pretty old and we're down to one, which is depressing, but I'm afraid to introduce a new kitty since ours is 16. She misses her brother who we lost in March. They slept together all day and night long. But, the one we lost did not like the other cats I had at the time I adopted him. He was jealous. I got the new kitty and he took her over. Funny to watch how that played out.

All of mine did the head butting. It's loving really.

Happily the cat was able to continue his freedom.
I admire his independent spirit in refusing to allow humans to restrict him.

She won’t stay away from pawing or nuzzling my hand long enough to get a shot.

I used this one just to show what a mutt she is. No legs are alike. Calico leg. Gray tabby leg. One plain light brown leg. One half tabby half calico leg.

Feed it food and water once a day, make a bed for it to sleep in. Cat will kill mice for you with vigor.

She looks a bit like a tortoiseshell kitty. Torties tend to like a like of attention and they seek it. They are also very loyal. Had some for a long time. She was very affectionate.

So... a cat made out of spare cat parts?

Stray Cats rocked.

Not only did they rock but they strutted, and had cat class and cat style!
