No, at least not for the major airlines. Each one is given their own hotel room. The large airlines have contracts with various hotels in the cities they service regularly, so some even have private suites for the crew to hang out in before going to their individual rooms.

Ah nevemind. I think I was confusing this with engineers working on cruise ships getting their own room, and most of the other crew have bunk rooms.

our initial training when I was a new hire was about 6-7 weeks, for flight attendants it was a week less, I was talking to a young bimbo flight attendant once and she asked about our training, she says "wow, you mean if I'd have gone to school one more week I could have been a pilot?"

well, that is a Federal regulation, you can BYOB, it just has to be served to you by a flight attendant, kind of hard to do now with the 3 oz. limits though
