Three years is too long to store a vehicle without it having some mechanical problems when you are ready to drive it again. Mice will completely frick it up.
I've stored a truck for longer than that. Clean the truck inside and out, drain the fuel system, change the oil, flush and change the brake fluid, pull the battery and put it on a tender, pull the sparkplugs and spray fogging oil, keep a DampRid bucket inside the cab and replace/refill as needed, spray a corrosion inhibitor on the under carriage, treat door/window gaskets with RV dressing or dry silicone spray. If you plan on keeping the tires for it, they will need to come off and the truck set on jack stands, the brakes will need to be treated too. Otherwise plan on replacing those tires as they will be flat spotted and not safe for your kid to use.

Yeah, I’m going to keep it. I suggested to my son last night that I may sell it and his little heart broke. He wants that truck, not just any truck. I’ll just find a place nearby to park it but not totally disable it. I’ll drive it occasionally and maintain it. Shouldn’t be too hard to do.
And I realize he’ll probably end up wrecking it. That 5.7 does have power.

I play musical vehicles between my personal truck and work truck. It sucks balls but I’m gone 75% of the time so it’s not a huge deal. Our next house has that at or near the top as a problem to eliminate.

Just get rid of the damn truck and revisit the situation in 3 years. Storing, insurance, and problems caused by not routinely running the engine seems like a nightmare situation

Just when I thought BabyFag was gonna give some actual good advice he resorts to one of his classic schticks and douches it up.

Buccees in Katy. They won’t even notice.
Unfortunately, they will. Had a buddy meet me there for a quick 48 hour trip. His car was towed a few hours after we left it.
