NEW ORLEANS, La. (AP) - The U.S. Attorney's Office in New Orleans said a Louisiana man who robbed drug dealers at gunpoint twice in 2016 has pleaded guilty in federal court.

Stephan Mitchell Thomas, 22, entered pleas to a seven-count indictment Wednesday and faces sentencing Jan. 30.

Prosecutors said in court documents that Thomas and an accomplice broke into a St. Tammany Parish residence in July 2016, striking one occupant with a gun. They stole a pistol, cash, electronics, and narcotic pills they intended to sell. Prosecutors said the pistol was used in a September 2016 Tickfaw robbery of marijuana, cash, and a car.

Thomas also pleaded guilty to firearms violations involving possession of a short-barrel rifle and sawed-off shotgun.
