I remember taking Statics as a bright eyed Freshman at UT. The professor kept pointing at illustrations of cantilever beams and would say, "suppose I have a rigid member x meters long"...It was hard to keep a straight face for the rest of the question.

Back when things were done on paper I taught math and related courses part time, I would staple McDonalds job applications to the returned exams of students that obviously were not doing the prep work, usually whoever my boss happened to be would make me stop doing it.

What happened to Reed? I heard she got hit on her scooter or something on campus. She was a great teacher though.

Pretty much what I heard too. I think she had to have a few surgeries and she's been out since.
