I agree 100%, but if it will make the most people happy to just not change at all anymore, why not do it as a country and move on

I just want it to be light outside after i leave the office year-round. Whatever the govt needs to do to make that happen, please do it.
edit: I am genuinely surprised that Trump has not actually passed an EO about it.

FYI this did pass congress but then got held up in the Senate because "Children might have to wait for the bus in the dark". And I'm not joking, that was literally the reason it didn't get voted on.
Now it can't make it to the floor because some reps want DST and others want standard time.
Personally I just saw split the damn difference and stop changing the clocks.

I will never understand people who are passionate about the DST debate in either direction.
It's just not a big deal.
It actually is, at least as it pertains to switching the clocks. There is a 5-10% documented increase in car wrecks the first week after we "Spring Forward". There are increases in workplace injuries and heart attacks as well. Economically there is lower productivity the week after the switch (estimated at roughly $1B GDP loss).
All that to say, it could be avoided if we just stopped changing the clocks.
