I've gone from Bored to extremely bored with #Ferguson.
Great times in the early days of this thread, but it's getting boring and the same arguments every day now.

When you discuss issues like this with your non-white friends, how does that go?

If you just want to arrive at your presupposed position, avoid any other data.
So, I guess you are saying that race of the parties involved and only race are the only factors that matter in a situation like this.
You continue to make it sound like I have formed my final opinion on this issue. I'm only looking at the facts as I have heard them. At the moment, I don't see race as an issue in the incident, except for the actual race makeup of the participants.
If it comes out that the cop made racial slurs or something, I will be glad to say race played a part, but from what I have heard, that hasn't been said.

When one commits a majority of the crime, your going to be profiled, it's how good police work gets done. Sorry, but it is. Don't like it, cry to a politician.
What you are describing here is good police work, not profiling for no reason other than to profile. Political correctness has really caused common sense to leave this country.

No. Why is it a binary question? It's not in real life. Race isn't the primary thing in this event. Crime, punishment, law enforcement are all ahead of race. I've already said that in this thread just a few posts back. I'm not sure if you're purposefully ignoring that or you just forgot.

None of us have the facts. And a "racial" event isn't necessarily a demonstration of racism. It's only an event where race plays a part. And it certainly played a part in this whole affair. You can argue whether or not it's primarily racial, and if that's the argument, then I'd say that the initial event of the police shooting is not primarily racial in nature. But you'd be hard pressed to say that a black youth stealing from an Asian shop owner and then being shot by a white cop has no racial aspect to it.
2 pages late to the party as usual but that never stopped me from responding. This sums it up pretty well. I would venture to guess this would be a much smaller deal if the cop was a black person.

Those events should not be lumped together, as they are separate events.
I would suggest that if the shop owner was a black person the protest and ensuing chaos would have been more tempered.

Unless new things have come out that I haven't heard about, each "fact" that comes out removes the racial aspect, does it not?
This information never reached/had no effect on the protest side .... OR it may have had a positive effect that we will never know about.

Is it bad that i am pro profiling in my area, probably, but i don't give a frick. The wife and i work hard for what we have(at least she does), no one is going to just come take it. Call me a racist, i don't give a shite also.
I always profile. If I see a female I make note of it and treat her different. Each group has it's culture. When I see a lot of Hispanics I make a mental note of it and conduct myself accordingly. I see a priest I act differently. What am I missing???

Don't bring logic into an emotional debate. The two don't coexist.

They agree that the appologists are making the civilized blacks look bad.

So is there a video of the incident? Or just the one of the conversation about it?
Trying to catch up after a few busy days.

Profiling is based on numbers. In an area that has more crime committed by Mexicans, Mexicans are more likely to get pulled over and come in contact with police. Same with an area of crime committed by blacks, whites etc. Right or wrong it's reality.
True, especially of law enforcement, but if a white woman gets on an elevator with a black guy decked out in dredlocks, tats, and pants below his butt she is more likely to be a little more anxious than if her fellow rider was a white dude in a suit? I believe this to be profiling.

What was it that Chris Rock said about what he looks for when he goes to the ATM machine??? It's not just whites that do that.
