My parents graduated from HBCU's. My older brother and sister went to HBCUs and my older sister got her Ph.D. from vandy. My younger sister and I didn't attended HBCUs. My parents never pushed us to go to a HBCU, they just wanted us to get education.

I know three white folks who went to Southern Law. Don't know how tough it was to land that first job but 20+ years after the fact they seem to be enjoying successful careers.

I would consider getting a master's in speech path at JSU and would gladly recommend the same for my own kid.

I see nothing wrong with that. How do you feel the education was at these schools?

I know a couple Alabama State grads. They're both successful PE teachers.

Actually there pharmacy program was connected to FSU for awhile and had a large white population because of it. Was a good school has had a some scandals of late with administration and the band hazing incident but their alumni is pretty huge.

Dude, just stop. It isn't 1954. Thousands of white kids across the nation attend HBCUs.

A poor white kid from Jackson, MS would be just fine attending Jackson State, as opposed to driving hours to Ole Miss, Moo State, or USM. Stop perpetuating this bullshite myth that whites don't (or shouldn't attend) these schools.

I knew a white person from the rich Chicago burbs who went to Southern on a bowling scholarship. She lasted about a year. Wtf was she thinking?

That she wanted a free college education simply for bowling once a week. Crazy right?

I agree I just wish that black people unlike yourself would realize that. The white man is holding us back bullshite is getting old. I go to cities like Atlanta and see black people everywhere thriving. Get a fricking education and quite expecting handouts, work hard and you can thrive too regardless of what color you are.

Exactly. That's pretty much what it comes down to.
