re: Spinoff: Is anyone here still opposed to marijuana legalization and if so why?

I am "against" legalization only because of the increased risk to driving on the road. In Colorado, drugged driving has passed drunk driving as the leading cause of highway fatalities.
If we could guarantee that people wouldn't smoke weed and then operate vehicles, I'd be okay with it.

I live in a legal state as well. MJ DUI's are up because legal states are now testing for it. And of course, it's also worth noting that you can get a DUI 30 days after smoking. By that standard, 75% of adults are DUI for alcohol every day.

Link?
Since Colorado legalized marijuana, highway fatalities are way down

Huh? Are they performing a follicle test to determine current sobriety?

Think about how stupid that statement sounds. Of course they will go up if they start testing for it you dummy.

This is how we know you don't know what you're talking about.

I just thought I'd drop in to wish everyone a happy 4/20 day.

Denial is tough for drug addicts. They will point the finger at others and use any tatic possible to deny the ultimate truth that they are a drug addict.

A piss test can pop hot well over 30 days, depending on the persons weight and metabolism. It's not the norm but it's in the realm of possibilities. That might not be the preferred method for testing, but it's the most prevalent method as far as I know. Current WA state blood standards is 5 nanograms, I think. A regular smoker can stop smoking on Friday and wake un Tuesday with 5 nanogarams.

Weed isn't any more addictive than watching tv or working out. It is a damn good time and there are literally no consequences to getting high. (Besides forgetting your little bro at practice) people tend to want to continue doing things they like if there are no negative implications.

You didn't answer the question.
Do you believe alcohol is addictive or dangerous?

No it hasn't.

If you're ever wondering why this state is nearly dead last in every quality of life metric, look up above. Too many archaic religious zealots, not to mention hypocrites. The same type of frauds who try and act morally opposed to weed are the same who get drunk and beat their kids.

They will continue to ignore this question or deflect because they know it completely undermines their argument.

You should have heard the arguments against SB271 yesterday - they were embarrassing in many cases. It's hard to believe that some of these folks presenting those arguments are actually senators of this state.

This is throwing focus.
See above.
