i remember doing some driving school when i was that age, but that was a long time ago.
i would think you/he would want to do your best to keep it off his record. i know what i pay for my 16 yr old daughter, i can imagine what you pay for a boy.

ask the police chief for an Article 894. no tickets for 6 mos following the first one and it will stay off record.

Just don't pay it...Start your son off at an early age to understand that speeding tickets and DWI arrests are bullshite, and only stop you from having a fun time

If the ticket is not for some absurd speed, then go to court and ask the judge for driving school.
Some places allow you to call and get driving school prior to going to court and allow you to get out of the ticket that way. Call the clerk and find out.

When I was 17 I got a ticket for running a red light in NWLA. The ticket was $190, but they would not give me the option of paying the ticket due to my age.
I went to court and was hit with 45 hours of community service and a driving class - no questions asked.

I got one when I was 16, and the parish had something called "teen court." the jury was a group of kids that had already gone through it. you get sentenced to community service and jury duty on the court. not sure if a lot of parishes do this, but check it out.

got a 90 in a 60 for my first ticket. went to the da had a talk with him and was giving a year probation and he asked me to do community service. might have paid like $80 in fees

This makes more sense than having Mommy pay the ticket.
