A Pierre Part man was arrested over the weekend after he accidentally texted an Assumption Parish deputy about an upcoming drug sale, Sheriff Leland Falcon said.
The deputy, a patrol officer, received the text message Friday that was "misdirected" by Dwayne Paul Hebert, 39, in which Hebert arranged to deliver crystal meth-amphetamine to a pre-determined location in Pierre Part, the sheriff said in a news release.
The patrol officer agreed to meet Hebert at the location and then mobilized the Narcotics Division to assist him, according to Falcon. When Hebert showed up, he was arrested and deputies seized the crystal methamphetamine along with two firearms, Falcon said.
