Matthews formally arraigned on April 16, pled not guilty to all charges. Judge denied bail due to overwhelming evidence that Matthews a continued risk to burn more churches if released.

Trial date has been set for September, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for July 17. Jury selection will take place Sept. 10 and 17.
