I've lived in South Louisiana my entire life, and I don't enjoy boiled seafood. I'll go to a crawfish boil and enjoy the company and beer, and I'll eat the sausage, corn, potatoes, etc. But, I don't get why crawfish and boiled crabs are such a huge hit with everyone.

There's so much when you get old,happens when pop culture is geared toward people 30-40 years younger than you.
I would say the utter fascination with cellphones,handy tool but I can remember people getting by without minute-to-minute contact with everybody.
