Im $1.3 million in 4% CD in credit union. $80,000 in checking
Good for you.. are you putting some back in?… curious .. if you do what will be the catalyst to cause you to move..
I tend to pick stuff up on they way down .. after a 15 percent drop i take a small position in stuff I want to build and then just ladder limit buys in very little chunks going down.every 5 percent ( 30,25 etc) I may grab a bigger chunk.. . I tried to get stuff on the way up when I was younger but always second guess myself and end up missing the big steps up..
Why all that in cd and not laddered cd and a chuck in a high yield account ready to move at the moment?

How is this determined? My wife and I will probably pay $7k combined on our credit cards in a typical month. We both pay the full statement balance every month, though, so we don't carry debt.
That was the other thing I did not even bother to mention. My wife and I, like you and your wife, also pay for most things on our credit card then pay off the balance. We do it because there is less risk using a credit card than a debit card and because we get cash back points. But when you pay will determine whether it is reported as having a balance on your card to the credit bureaus. And I suspect that is where the info posted comes from.

Turns out my money was exactly where his dumbass said it wasn't safe.
Not only was it safe but I'm making MORE money by buying low.
This ain't the first rodeo for us old folk. The stock market didn't just start 10 years ago.

I’ve got no clue what you’re talking about.

I recognized from the start that you never did.
