Check the local laws. A lot of cities have ordinances about timeframes for when companies can/can't solicit. For instance, in Baton Rouge, it's legal to solicit door-to-door but only between the hours of 9am and 6pm. Also, a "No Solicitations" sign means they aren't supposed to solicit you at all.
Ideally you should just call the company the next morning and advise them of the violation. If you think they DGAF then you can just notify the city directly of the violation.

Its almost always some little 20-something year old douchebag canvassing the neighborhood on a segway. "Hi there, I'm with such and such pest control company and we just did the termite service for your neighbors Jane and John" while pointing towards a house 6 doors down that's still unloading the moving truck. Like I'm supposed to give a shite about what pest control service that neighbors I've never met are using.
The only thing I'll ever buy from a door to door salesperson is Worlds Finest chocolate or girl scout cookies. Everyone else can get off my lawn.

I had the same sign by my front door in a previous home when we lived in town. It was an eye opener to me just how poorly educated most people are. I lost count on how many times I'd open the door, point to the sign and they'd say one of the following
oh i'm not selling, i'm informing you about ..... so you're SOLICITING my attention?

I had several exchanges with what looked like reasonably intelligent people about the word "solicit" and they got the open-mouthed, deer in the headlights look on their face when I educated them on the full definition of the word and further suggested they go back to school and slap their teachers for poorly educating them.
