What is the difference between a meme and a gif? Just wondering because they seem to be used interchangeably.

Gifs are just images with embedded video.

Memes are...well...memes. Templates for expressing a certain thought.

Memes can come in gif forms. The text within a static image is just but one form of a meme.

Hell, 350, Germans, and baw are all memes.

What is the difference between a meme and a gif

A meme is usually a picture with captions where the visual content presents a joke, irony, or sarcasm that is understood by most as humor with or without a textual narrative.

If it moves, it is also a gif.
