If you leave valuables in your car anywhere be it city or suburbs you are inviting someone to smash your window. Car break ins happen everywhere.

I just pulled up the crime map for Gwinnett, the cess pool.
During the same time period for which I looked at Inman Park, my subdivision of 174 homes has a grand total of zero police reports filed for anything. Not a car break in, not vandalism, not nothing.
So I expand out to surrounding subdivisions. This year to date, there's two simple batteries, one regular battery, and a criminal damage of property, in an area about the same size as Inman Park.
Even I was surprised to not see at least one or two car break ins.
So, who lives in the cess pool? Remind me.

Gwinnett county is a total shithole. Look at all the illegal Immigrants there. Look at your school board and county commissioners now. Your schools are getting worse by the year. It’s a hub for drugs and human trafficking. The demographics of the county are an absolute disaster now. All the while the reverse is happening in the city. Why is that?

Get all the corporations with a big ATL presence like Coca-Cola that spend a bazillion dollars every February to promote black history to put up or shut up.
Instead of midnight basketball, offer GED programs or training in the trades with a locked in job offer for successful completion of the programs. Offer tutoring for younger students with the message that the classroom, not the ball court, is the key to success. Incentivize the companies that have offshored customer call centers to use call centers staffed with inner city workers.
The problem is that concepts like the American Dream and the Puritan Work Ethic are now labeled as white supremacist.

The Grady/Midtown High cluster (the one I live in) is fine and getting better by the year. All the while Gwinnett county is overrun with Low IQ Third World Illegal Immigrants, your school superintendent came from Washington State and is a huge CRT Social Justice Warrior

I'll be the first to tell you about Gwinnett's wrong direction, I yanked my kid out of Gwinnett public school in 2020. But I'm not going to sit here and listen to some jackoff from Inman Park act like he's in a much better situation because his house is four times as expensive as mine. Atlanta has a major crime problem, among other problems, and your conversational strategy is "Atlanta is fine, I live in a rich neighborhood, the suburbs are on fire, but Atlanta is fine, because did I mention I live in a very expensive house in a very trendy part of Atlanta with very low crime compared to the rest of the city but still much higher crime than the suburbs I just called cess pools"

Half my neighbors are people who have seen the writing on the wall and have fled Cobb and Gwinnett counties. Forsyth and Cherokee counties are great now but in 20 years will be exactly like Gwinnett and Cobb are today. It’s unavoidable.

Brother, I don’t live in Inman Park. I sold my house there last Spring. I live in Virginia Highland and was in Old Fourth Ward before that when it was only about 20% white so a long time ago. Some of the stuff you are posting is straight up old wives tales. SW Atlanta has a major crime problem. That is 16 lanes of interstate and 6 or 7 miles away from me. It’s isolated. The city is getting whiter and whiter by the year while the Atlanta suburbs are getting blacker/browner and flooded with Third World Illegal Immigrants who have no intention of ever learning English. Instead they are turning Gwinnett County into enclaves of whatever shithole country they are from. The city is trending a completely different direction than most suburbs. My only advice is if you are in Gwinnett or Cobb get out now. If you wait too long your property value will be shite. Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles can see where Gwinnett and Cobb are headed. I saw this way back in 2004 when I decided to move to the city over the suburbs. My surroundings have only gotten better in that time frame while yours have gotten worse and will continue to get worse. Are there a bunch of idiot liberals around me? Sure. But they are quickly being replaced by younger people like me. Atlanta is changing and rapidly. The future of suburban Atlanta is going to be awful. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
