You know what that's like from when your Short was the same way, right?

No offense to you but talking antibiotics when you have a virus is kinda dumb and it's also what 90% of the people in the US do.

I understand it serves no purpose, and actually does no harm, to take an antibiotic when you have a virus, but how are all of the people getting prescriptions for the antibiotics in the first place?

Not sick so far. No flu shot. I'm kinda regretting it given how bad it's been so far. I skipped two free chances at work.

Not true. You can develop resistance to that antibiotic so that way when you get an actual infection, you're fricked.

Several ways:
1. lazy doctors
2. NP's or PA's who don't know what they're doing
3. They're so much of a pain in the arse that docs give them just to shut them up.
4. They fall into a "grey area" where there's about a 50% chance it's viral and 50% it's bacterial. Most docs will go ahead and give antibiotics for that.

3...

Yeah Im sure that happens a lot with kids(or used to). Try telling a crazy parent no when they are demanding antibiotics for lil Johnny's sniffles.

I give them prednisolone then. They don't know the difference, they just know it's medicine and best of all it makes the kid feel better.

Not true. You can develop resistance to that antibiotic so that way when you get an actual infection, you're fricked.

Then you get superbugs.

My dad refuses to prescribe antibiotics.

You pretty much have to be on your deathbed before he'll consider it.

It may be the most over prescribed drug and our immune systems are weaker because of it
