USACE is mandated by Congress to allow the Miss River to average throughout the course of an entire year a 70/30 split with the Atchafalaya River.
They will be pumping 60% through the Atchafalaya if it gets above 41 feet and they will still be under the 30% for the year.

Next time they open Morganza, I’m getting my lawn chair and going set up camp on the levee. I always wanted to see that in person

I watched it open. It was a sight to see. You don’t feel the power of water unless it is rushing under you.
