I immediately asked him if he wanted my credit card number in order for him to get this fixed. He paused for a second, then proceeded to say he could not take it, or he would get fired. I then continued to troll him until he eventually said sorry to bother, have a nice day, then hung up.

I like to keep a depleted gift card handy for the guys who want your card. I give them that number and it doesn't work so I need to talk to my bank and they have to call back. Even better is if they run it for $1 successfully and then sell the worthless number to someone.

I ask them what they are wearing and what they had for lunch. I ask them for their personal phone number so I can take them to dinner "next Thursday night"

I sometimes fake cry and tell them how happy I am just to talk to someone. Gets realllll awkward and they usually hang up. Sometimes you get the thief with a heart of gold who tries to make you feel better.

I have asked for help and screamed like I was being beaten or just got in a car wreck too. "OH GOD PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE IM DYING" pretty funny to hear their pangs of morality before they hang up. "PLEASE CALL 911 FOR ME PLEASE"

That's actually not good because you are letting the scammer get paid.
