Because you suggested being 15 now was different than 25 years ago. Another poster suggested they were having sex earlier. I cited a story that says they are having sex later.

My dad had me terrified of getting a girl pregnant in HS.
My cousin knocked up his GF when he was in the 11th grade and she was in the 10th. She dropped out to have the kid but went back later. They ended up being pretty normal, productive people. She tragically died of a rare heart condition in her 20s though.

For the record my original intent was just to factually say I would not let my 15 year old daughter date an 18 year old and this thread got conflated about control and the lack of.
I don’t think any of us think we have some kind of control over our kids when they are in the wild. I do I think we raised my daughter to be respectful of herself and make the right decisions. That’s all we can hope to do.
