Well I will say this. I can't remember much about my wedding 18 years ago. Don't really remember the plates,the glasses, the groom cake, the flowers, what the bridesmaids wore, none of it.
I can tell you how much it cost though. Folks in the OP photo did NOTHING wrong. Weddings in general are a huge waste of money. Huge.
Should have done a very small ceremony and put the difference in stocks and bonds. Would be worth a lot of money now.

Was eating lunch at commanders one time on my 3rd martini and there was a table of jewish women next to me all probably around 60.
They were shitting on a wedding they had gone to the weekend before because they served cheap champagne.

Every wedding I've ever been to, the groom's cake is the one that is actually eaten the most and gets the best reviews. Bride's cake is fancy as hell, groom's cake actually gets eaten because everyone loves funfetti.
