Which is why we've mostly moved away from attempting to name afflictions after where we think they originated. I imagine the overwhelming majority of people you ask would bet money the Spanish Flu originated in Spain.

But regardless, my opinion about whether Chinese Flu would be silly political pandering is secondary to my opinion that China Flu sounds idiotic, because it violates grammar rules we are taught, literally, as children. If anyone other than Trump would have said it, people would mock them for it. But because Trump said it, it makes it the only reasonable name for it
