She was the "Big Queen" of the Spirit of Fi Yi Yi, a Mardi Gras Indian group. (Not surprisingly for NOLA, Mardi Gras Indians are black, not Indian).

Did they say Black Lives Matter? I doubt it.

Your point is valid but the videos are from this years Mardi Gras back in Feb. Before all this shite started and anyone had thought of masks. So back off the outrage in this instance.

ETA. Reviewed the video and, sure enough, they did gather up for a balloon release. The parade stuff is from earlier in the year but the big group shots of the balloon release were yesterday.

They invented this thing called video tape a few years back. We've moved on to digitial recordings, but the concept is the same.

Only White people can’t go to church, have a wedding, or go to a funeral even though Kung Flu disproportionately impacts minorities. White people get called out and shamed but yo yo yo street rap parties and protests are more than fine.

It was a good 2000 plus people, no masks, singing, dancing and drinking, live brass band.

Am I misreading, or was this done for someone who got shot?

The whole "funeral as a celebration" thing is great if some 89-year-old finally kicked the bucket, but it strikes me as completely inappropriate for the victim of a shooting.

Not sure when people started getting this wrong, but I suspect it's a pretty recent development.

I got crossways with some Channel 8 idiot caster during the initial protests in Orleans. She told me Social Justice was more important than Social distancing..

And her husband or father didn't step in and set her straight? Weird.
