What you do is ensure you don't have any energy drink type beverages in your vehicle.
We are driving cross country, had an Amp Energy in my front console of my New 16 Silverado.
Had another energy drink in it and either of them seemed to be freezing, assumed because of all the terrible terrible shite they put in them, so I had left it there.
Came out this morning and it had exploded all over my cab. On the ceiling, center console, front dash, seats, speakers, floor, doors, back seats.
It was all still crystallized tho, hadn't melted as it has stayed well below freezing.
Made clean up possible, otherwise I would have had an even worse nightmare. Was able to get it out of my light colored ceiling cloth and shop vac most of the rest.
That was nerve racking though

it won't be your last snow
unless its ok with your employer that you miss work from time to time, you need an all wheel vehicle.
you can outfit your vehicle with a snow plow if you are really down a long private road.
be realistic. use your computer and see what the average snow is for your actual location.
Virginia is a huge state.
be at peace with your reality, and deal with it straight.
all wheel vehicle. snow tires.
off you go now.

They have a setup that you just drive up on. Don't take your tires off or anything.
