They call it Habu Sake in Japan...

Yeah, shooting the scorpion tequila is not all that bad, but it's not as easy to eat the scorpion. And I've only had it in the super smooth home brew local tequilas.

Tasted like the strongest shot you could ever imagine that burned your mouth, tongue, throat, and stomach the entire way down. 2 shots and you were almost wasted.

If you read the article, it says indicates that snakes surviving months in alcohol is not an uncommon occurance. They're able to do it because they can force hibernation and lower their heart rate, appearing to be dead when in fact they are quite alive.
