Have you looked under the hood? Have you looked around the fuel fill?
You could drain the tank and start it until it runs out of gas. The fuel smell should then go away after awhile.

probably the catalytic converter, the exhaust fumes smell like gas before being catalyzed.

I had a vehicle that housed the fuel pump under the back seat. Fuel pump is going to be my guess.

Just roll the windows down. That should help with the smell.

Or the purge valve sensor. I would change that before the charcoal cannister b/c it's cheaper.
