This is more of what I'm leaning to. We either plan to live on the teche or buy some acreage and build... Just trying to find out what area fits best and is best for our jobs.

From the pics, that's a pretty nice home, considering the small square footage. Real nice outdoor sitting area too.

For me personally, I have no interest in cutting that much grass on a regular basis. If it suits you, go for it. To each his own.

I agree the size is a little small compared to the price. Would like around 2400sqft if possible. As far at the yard goes, I cut 4acres here weekly during the summer, so don't have a problem with the yard. Just curious about similar houses around the areas that have been mentioned so far.

The picture makes the yard look bigger than it really is, if the write up is correct it's only a half acre. I have that in the middle of town

We went drive around sunday and have pretty much decided that Breaux Bridge, New Iberia and Broussard are out of the discussion. Youngsville looked nice but its just huge clusters of subdivisions. Maurice didnt look bad, focusing there at the moment. Leaning more on building if we can find the right location. The schools in north vermillon had good ratings aswell, but that could always change by the time the kids are ready.

Maurice is a nice spot super close to pretty much everything. Hebert's Meat Market is beyond delicious and there is a dentist right there in Maurice who is fantastic. Dupuy's new little spot is good as is the food at the new gas station (like REALLY good). Schools there are great.

Just be careful when you're driving through there whether you live there or not ... po po will be looking for you.

You can at least get some good bread there, but that's about it. Maybe find some good dice games in town as well

Move to the north side of Lafayette. You will be close to the oil center.

You must live nearby because you described our little village perfectly, including the speed trap
