The point is you don't have any idea what the property owners justification is and it is silly to assume is motivation.

Until more info comes out any assumptions from either side of the argument is pointless.

Exactly. I was playing the same game as the poster I was responding to before you chimed in with your rabble.

Well, you had already made your assumptions without any evidence in this thread.

A gun is not needed for justification...you idiot.

Your assumption is still wrong that there is no way it could be justified unless he had a gun. There are numerous circumstances in which it would be justified without the presence of a gun.

just because someone is standing in your front yard doesn't justify you killing that person

If at anytime during that confrontation, the property owner feels his life or someone else's life is endangered or threatened or that he or someone is in danger of great bodily harm...lethal force is justified.

THAT is true in ANY confrontation.

True

Never said that it did.

But the presence of a gun is not mandatory to justify lethal force.

Again, there are many circumstances that could lead to the justification of lethal force. Without more info it is pointless to assume that it is justified or not.

Lol that's alleged by the person who did the shooting. Don't be so naive. Let's wait and see how it plays out.

You said he was just standing there when he was shot.

He could have been sitting. I really don't know what he was doing. He could have been standing on his head. Maybe he was spinning around or kneeling. He could have been standing on one foot. I don't think any of that is justifiable to kill him.

There's so much that we don't know here, but my first thought is "Did the shooter have to open the door?"

Call the police and wait, armed just in case he breaks in.
