Relationships depend on the individual. Some people keep in touch, some don't. I don't keep in touch with anyone outside of family, but I thoroughly enjoyed my frat life and met a lot of good guys in the process. Ive never networked from it, but again, I'm not the networking type.

My info says the kid died at his apartment not in the house.

I guess most of the guys that I have kept a relationship with post college share interests like hunting/fishing/golf that has kept us connected. I owe my current job to a fraternity brother from another chapter.
I know the whole rent-a-friend thing gets thrown out a lot in these types of threads but my chapter got axed not long after I went active and despite that, just about everyone remained close well past college and it didn't cost us a dime in dues.

I know of 4 people who have either OD on heroin or committed suicide because they couldn't get sober. And this was just this past year. If you were to count my whole life, I would say that number is closer to ten. The major flaw in your ridiculous argument that heroin is better to use recreationally than alcohol, is that most people will drink and use at the same time. There are many flaws, actually. But you really don't seem worth the effort. And I'd hate to spoil the "fun" for you as the snarky cokehead/heroin user. Keep doing it and get back to me in ten years to let me know how it all worked out.

I rocked out there in the early 2000's. Sucks, but I heard it watch big group of coke heads now. I still keep in touch with a few guys, and we have a big tailgate.
