I was at the ULL game last week. They regulate it with bracelets. When I went to the beer booth the first time somebody was standing there with a machine that scans IDs. My wife was with me who is somewhat obviously pregnant and they had to have hers too. It can be regulated. Just depends on who is being trusted to do it

The University of Texas started selling beer this season.
I was surprised at how many people would buy an $8 can of beer, two at a time, no less (for good or bad).
Sick of people spilling beer on me while trying to navigate the throng.
Noticed the videotron catching LOTS of people shitfaced drunk, including borderline (if not) minors.
Somebody is going to leave a football game one night and plow over someone. I guess if UT has made everyone selling the beer to be TABC certified, they avoid liability somewhat.

Houston and Rice have sold beer for years with no problems. But they also have much smaller crowds.

I disagree about the University of Houston.
I went to several Texas games in the Astrodome and saw oodles of U of H and UT frat boys who were drunk off their arse.
Some of my most memorable observed jackassery occurred in the Astrodome.

You guys tend to bring that out in people. 
But the dome days were a little before my time. Been to more UH games since they moved back to campus, including last week. Fairly tame.

I also don't recall beer sold at Rice. Maybe that's a new thing.
The Southwest Conference rule was that alcohol could not be sold at sporting events on campus.
U of H was the only school that had an off-campus stadium. Rice Stadium is on campus.
Because U of H was the only one, that tended to bring out the worst to fans from both sides in the Astrodome because beer was considered a luxury.
You know, I take that back about "the only one with off-campus SWC stadium."

I can see that. It was cool being able to drink at the A&M/Arizona St. game in Houston, but the stadium prices kept me in moderation.
Last Rice home game I went to was maybe five years ago. They didn't have beer at the concessions, but had a beer garden set up in the North Endzone with ID checkers and cops at the entrance, so it was just adults.
