Victim should be committed. She is obviously insane.

I would not to that ATM location at that time if you promised me $1,000 for the effort.

Bet money that the judge will give him a second chance and put him on some kind of meaningless probation. This kid needs serious consequences now for any chance whatsoever in the future. Not just 2-3 or even 30 days in juvenile detention/jail and probation.

Maybe my value system is just fricked up. But I believe parents should raise their kids to not rob and burglarize, not the governments.

The parents should receive some type of punishment in addition to whatever the kid receives.

He's 11...

I agree that what he did was repugnant, but what can you really do to an 11 year old.

Sadly, I don't believe under Constitutional or legislative principles that you could remove the child from the parent's care and place him with the state/DCS (not that is a better option).

Won't hold up in court. But I am all for changing the laws to make parents more accountable.

I have known juveniles as young as 11 or 12 who have been locked up in a facility or detention center for weeks. In fact just came across one last week that was locked up for 13 days and he was 11 . This kid needs much more than weeks . DCFS placement in some sort of group home won't do squat. I am talking about a juvenile detention center/jail . If he is not given serious consequences for his actions, he is only further learned that his behaviors do not have consequences from the law

How common is it to repeat after being locked up?

If the goal is not have the kid repeat, it's the parents that hace to make the difference.

So you're saying the kid doesn't deserve any meaningful consequence? Do you really think that this parent is going to do anything? This kid was out unsupervised at 10 PM, with a gun no less.

Hopefully at some point people will realize that the "enablers" listed above make these kids "untouchable" in school are usually directly linked to crime later in life. Additionally, because they rarely have actual consequences and treat teachers like shite, they think that acting that way in society is normal and that they can treat police officers like they have treated their teachers. This is how you end up with Terdgusian, Missouri or Alton Sterling. MAGA please.
