Should I do a charge back with a credit card?

I rented a car a couple weeks ago for Thanksgiving. At the car rental place (Alamo) I told them I DID NOT WANT THE ADDITIONAL INSURANCE. Yet they put it on my bill. So before I took the car off the lot I went back in and said I didn't want it. The guy told me I wouldn't be charged for it.
I return the car the next week, get my receipt and the additional insurance is on there. I said I didn't want it and they said its just on there because its like a "hotel hold" and I wouldn't be charged.
I check my credit card statement 3 days later and they charged me for it. I called Alamo and they said they will handle it but its been a few days now and I am getting impatient. Should I call Alamo back and see what the deal is or just do a charge back.

Call Alamo then call your issuer. I can't believe I wasted any energy typing this.

Well I am not a credit card person. I ONLY use it for renting cars which is like 3 times a year.

Companies don't want to get chargebacks. That doesn't necessarily mean that they will do anything, but if they get too many, the card issuers can levy penalties. Call them and tell them if they don't fix it you will call your card company and perform a chargeback. They will likely fight it, but your bank will typically side with you if you can provide any kind of justification.

Well the pickle I am in is that my credit card payment is due on Monday, and I called Alamo this past Tuesday and so far haven't heard back from them. I don't want my credit card bill payment to be late incase this isn't resolved by Monday.

So do a charge back
Would you like me to walk you through the steps of wiping your arse? Remember, big boys stand up to pee...I don't care how mommy does it!

Minimum payment but I always pay the entire balance so I don't get any interest.

I don't see how they can credit your bill before Monday...you will just have a credit for next month

Your payment has nothing to do with it. You can process a chargeback at any time. Just pay the bill and then get a credit later if you do the chargeback.
