TPSO Arrests Houma Man in Connection with Martin Luther King Blvd Shooting
October 28, 2025
Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Houma man in connection with an October 27th shooting that occurred at a local business on Martin Luther King Blvd in Houma. Detectives have arrested Kyle Kenneth Stine III on multiple charges related to the incident.
On October 27th, shortly after 8:00 p.m., Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of a Houma business located on Martin Luther King Blvd. Witnesses at the scene informed Deputies that a white male driving a dark-colored Cadillac sedan was seen firing several rounds at a white SUV as it traveled through the parking lot.
A short time later, Deputies observed a vehicle matching the suspect’s description traveling at a high rate of speed on Martin Luther King Blvd. Deputies pursued the vehicle, which fled from authorities before coming to a stop in the 3500 block of Highway 311. The driver, identified as Kyle Kenneth Stine III, was taken into custody without further incident. A preliminary search of the vehicle revealed a loaded firearm, which was secured as evidence.
As Detectives continued the investigation, they located the occupants of the white SUV at a local hospital. A male passenger was found to have sustained a single gunshot wound to the arm, which was determined to be non-life-threatening. The female driver was uninjured.
Further investigation determined that at least three vehicles were struck by gunfire during the incident. Detectives identified the female driver as Stine’s estranged wife, while the male passenger was determined to be an acquaintance of hers. During questioning, Stine admitted to confronting his wife and the male passenger and firing at their vehicle as they attempted to leave the parking lot.
Stine was arrested on charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder (2 counts), Aggravated Flight from an Officer, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property (3 counts). He remains jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $2,000,000 bond set by local judges.
Sheriff Tim Soignet commended the quick response and professionalism of the Deputies and Detectives involved. “Our team acted swiftly to bring a dangerous situation under control and ensure the safety of our community”, Sheriff Soignet said. “Incidents of gun violence are taken extremely serious, and this case demonstrates our continued commitment to holding offenders accountable and protecting the citizens of Terrebonne Parish.”
The investigation remains ongoing as Detectives continue to gather evidence and additional details related to the case. The identities of the victims are not being released at this time due to investigatory circumstances.
