I 100% agree we have a terrible stigma about mental health issues in this country that needs to change.
But there is a big gap between suspecting someone has mental health issues and suspecting someone has severe enough mental health issues to the point they are capable of carrying out mass murder.

Those poor kids, hands shaking, whimpering. For such a short video, its crushing to watch.

There will be calls for bans again despite the fact that two Glock 17 pistols would have more capacity. I hope they fry his arse.

Marco Rubio knows the number but, said he will let law enforcement make the announcement.

Just read Mindhunter and we need to take the approach with these mass shooters that they did with serial killers so that we can actually learn what's going on.
Maybe if we really understood these guys we could train teachers and administrators how to profile these before it gets to this point and the kid can get proper treatment and care.
Prevention, not retaliation, should be a teacher's focus.
Better than arming them.

I just wish our government would sit down and at least try and figure something out to fix this problem. I don't care if you are pro or anti gun, but I think it would be safe to say that all of us are against our children being gunned down at school. If it was a once in a blue moon thing, it would be a different story. 18 school shootings since January 1 is flat out disgusting. I have an 8 year old and a 3 year old and I worry about this stuff all of the time. When my son comes home and talks about the lockdown drills and says we are pretty safe unless they come to the window and if he comes to the window I guess we will all get shot, I just can't take that. My 8 year old has come to terms with getting shot if an active shooter came to his classroom window. Let that sink in for a moment. What do you say to that?

he Columbine killers were damn near canonized
I think after Columbine and VA Texh, responsible news outlets stopped publicizing the shooter like they did before.

There was a kid at my sons school a few months who made a comment about shooting up the school and he and his dad were both arrested and the kid was expelled and now the kid. His brothers and parents have all been blackballed from any and all social circles.

As a pro gun guy, I agree, 1 shooting is too many. This also concerns me that if a young person can do this, what does this say about our security as a country.
Again, this doesn't happen over night. Parents and many others should be held responsible.

And would have been far less accurate firing from the hip.

You can't really fire an AR accurately from the hip. I assume that this was mostly in close quarters
