Sounds like neuroma. A podiatrist will recommend orthotics.

Started today, but every two hours or so I get An excruciating, electrical shock type pain from the top of my left foot running down to the bottom of my arch. (Think shoe laces to sole) It only lasts 5 seconds or so but the pain level will bring me to the ground. It is what I imagine getting struck by lightening would feel like. Anybody experience this? What was it and what helped?

It could be caused by some activity you had a day or so ago and it is just now acting up. I’ve had this happen before.

Exactly. Always see a chiropodist instead.

There's a term for it I cant remember, but could be the same.

Radiculopathy. Lumbar radiculopathy with the OP.

Pay attention to your lower back and posture. Are you doing something before or when it happens that could aggravate a low back pinched nerve? Like “I notice about an hour after ‘trick fricking’ my wife I will be walking and ZAP. This foot pain!”

Go to the doctor and get an A1C test. Could be neuropathy.

Morton's Nueroma....?

If so...trust me..dont have surgery, get shoe inserts from the Good Feet Store. Ridiculously expesive yes, but they work and are one hell of a lot easier than freaking foot surgery...I have no more pain after the surgery
(which was very, very difficult and painful itself), but can't feel part of my foot and toes and never will. wish I had found the inserts BEFORE l let them cut me.
